ColumbiaAnimalHospital.com has been getting attention lately whilst we work on providing you with a better ways to connect with your veterinarian. Version 3.0, as we're calling this rendition, sports a complete visual overhaul, and the back-end changes are even bigger. Version 2.0 used static webpages. With a static webpage, everything must be added or changed by hand. Before, if the Hospital needed a new webpage, our web guru had to code it up by hand, optimize it, upload it, and all the other trivial tasks that go with managing a static website. A single page could take hours to develop, depending on it's content, and even more time could be lost when communicating ideas with the Hospital staff.Version 3.0 does away with all of this. Instead, we've implemented the free, open source Joomla! Content Management Solution. This gives Hospital staff members a graphical, rich text environment with which they can add and edit webpages instantly, without having to write any code. A task that took hours now takes only minutes. You can expect more timely content additions to the website now that it's so easy to add content.
As if that isn't enough, there are some new features we've implemented to make your visit to the website more interactive. For example, in the right-hand column we now have a poll, updated every week with a new question. This feature will let us get more feedback from you on almost any topic. The only bad news is that the tour and forums are still delayed. These are both major projects, compared with something as simple as the library. All-in-all, the new site is designed to be easier for both the staff and you, the user, to use. We hope you enjoy it, as it's our web guru's greatest version to date. One last thing. Even though we've officially released version 3.0, there are still a bunch of bugs crawling about. Our web guru is doing his best to squash all of them, but even he can't find them all. If you find one, no matter what it is, please fire off an email to him at
